The Wall of Wool

At Maison Matilda we follow a no waste philosophy and even the smallest left over bits of wool can come in useful one day. We treat our resources and the environment with the respect they deserve.
By the time we get to weave, knit, or crochet with these yarns a lot of time, work and expertise has already been invested. Therefore, most of the yarns we use here have either got the Ökotex label or are GOTS certified.

My creations

The wearables: jackets, waistcoats, ponchos

Most of the wearables are made from my handwoven fabrics, some are knitted or crocheted and often they are a combination of two or three of those techniques. Adding an intricate crochet border to a woven jacket can add a special touch or combining weaving and knitting for a better fit or shaped sleeves. All jackets are machine washable if necessary.

The accessories: hand bags, shawls, hats

The bags are sewn from fabric, faux leather, recycled fabrics, hand woven fabrics or felted. All made with care and an eye for detail which ensures durability. Shawls and drapes can add a touch of colour to your wardrobe as well as keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer. Made from wool, cotton, bamboo, Tencel they are all wonderful to wear and washable.

Jewellery:

Occasionally, I make little pieces of bead jewellery - bead by bead: bracelets, ear rings, hairclips and necklaces. Decor and other items: Quilts, blankets, cushions, Patchwork quilts, crocheted blankets, baby blankets and the occasional baby toy are also available in my little shop as well as woven and knitted cushion covers and the occasional footstool.

Jigsaws:

I designed 5 different jigsaw puzzles and had them professionally printed and cut. They have 1000 pieces and are non-directional which means they are especially suited to be puzzled by more than one person. Sitting around a table no one has the disadvantage of looking at a picture upsidedown! Invite some friends for a relaxing puzzle night or finish the jigsaw with the help of your children.
