Writing about myself has never been my strong suit—but I’m sure you’ll get to know me little by little as you explore these pages.
After 20 years in the UK where my passion for textiles became a business, I found myself craving sunshine and a new adventure. When we found Matilda - it was love at first sight. A place filled with charm, history, secrets and light.
I can’t wait to meet you - whether it’s for a coffee in the sunny courtyard, showing you around the boutique or welcoming you for a creative holiday.

Caunes-Minervois
Caunes-Minervois (Minervois being the name of the local wine growing region) is a picturesque medieval town with an 11th century abbey which hosts regular art exhibitions and concerts. The village is famous for its red marble which was used in Versailles and the Louvre and can also be found in Matilda’s kitchen!
The village offers a bakery, pizzeria, pharmacy, bar, several wonderful restaurants, local foodmarkets, supermarket, Tourist Information, several art galleries and a regular bus service to Carcassonne, which is also our closest airport.
